A commemorative limited edition to celebrate the 90 Anniversary ofNo6 Squadron, Royal Air Force.

Artist Michael Rondot flew Jaguars with 6 Sqn and now uses his unique expertise to covey the thrill of mountain low flying with this powerful portrayal of 6 Sqn Jaguars thundering over a remote loch in the north of Scotland. The Jaguars are en-route to Cape Wrath to carry out precision-guided bombing attacks at Garbh-eilean weapons range. The lead aircraft is armed with a Paveway II laser guided bomb, whilst the No 2 is carrying a TIALD pod to laser desinate their target. In the background mighty Ben Hope, soaring up to 3040 feet, forms a massive backdrop against a darkening sky as the 'Big Cats' get down to business.

Published as a limited edition of 425 copies, BROKEN SILENCE also illustrates on the print border some of the proudest moments during 6 Sqn's 90 years of unbroken service. Its pilots were among the first Royal Flying Corps' airmen to fight in WWI and in July 1915, Captain Lanoe Hawker flying a Bristol Scout was awarded the first ever Victoria Cross for aerial combat. Later in the War, close co-operation with the Army earned the squadron its ' Gunner s stripe' badge. During WWII 6 Sqn became famous operating Hawker Hurricane IIDs in the 'tank-busting' role over North Africa, earning the nickname 'Flying Can Openers', and the badge designed in 1942 is still proudly worn with the 'Gunner's stripe'on the squadron's Jaguar aircraft today

In 1950, His Majesty King ABDULLAH I presented the Royal Jordanian Standard to 6 Sqn, acknowledging their peacetime security work during many years in the Middle East Today, the squadron proudly parades both British and Jordanian Royal Standards and maintains close links with the Kingdom of Jordan and the RJAF.

We are honoured to have two distinguished pilots as signatories to this 90t't Anniversary edition. Each copy is personally signed by:

His Royal Highness Major General FE1SAL BIN-AL HUSSEIN

After flying training in the UK at Cranwell and Valley, HRH Prince Feisal flew F-5E fighters and commanded No 6 Sqn RJAF. He has maintained close personal links with 6 Sqn RAF, accompanying or representing his father, the late King Hussein, on Royal visits to the UK. Since 2000 he has been the Commander of the RJAF and continues to fly most of their front-line aircraft whenever possible

Wing Commander MIKE SEARES MBE.

Mike Seares graduated from flying training with HRH Prince Feisal in 1988 and joined 54(F) Sqn. He flew Jaguars with the artist during the 1991 Gulf War before becoming a QWI and flight commander on 6Sqn. One of the youngest squadron commanders in the RAF, he assumed command of 6 Sqn at RAF Coltishall in 2002.

Published in a limited edition of only 425 copies, virtually all of the 350 signed & numbered prints are sold out at publisher, leaving just a few remaining available with the 50 artist's proofs and 25 remarques. Each is individually embossed with the Collectair seal to guarantee the edition size, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a detailed history of the squadron's 90 years of unbroken service.
