An edition of 100 remarqued artist's proof s, countersigned by EIGHT distinguished commanding officers of

Size 27 x 19 ins (690 x 500mm).

"SECOND TO NONE" is the unofficial motto of No II (AC) Squadron Royal Air Force, whose Tornado GR1A aircraft are brilliantly portrayed by Michael Rondot in his dramatic new painting of a pair of aircraft landing on a typically filthy and rainswept summer afternoon. This must surely rank as his finest Tornado painting to date, combining immense technical accuracy with the charged atmosphere that is so characteristic of his work.

This print is part of Michael Rondot's CLASSIC COMBAT AIRCRAFT series in a edition limited to just 100 remarqued artist's proofs. Each copy is signed by the Officer Commanding No II (AC) Squadron, Wing Commander R F Garwood DFC and by seven former Commanding Officers of "Shiny Two" Squadron, covering the period from Mustang operations during World War II to present-day Tornados. Additionally, each artist's proof has an original pencil remarque drawing of Garwood's aircraft from Operation Desert Storm drawn by Michael Rondot on the print border, making this one of the most exclusive editions ever offered.
