Air Battles over the Far East Burma 1944

On Monday 5th June 113 Sqd set out to attack Japanese positions North-East of Imphal in the support of Army operations taking place in the Kohima Valley. WO2 John Bott flying his 34th mission had started his second ground attack, when his Hurricane was hit by enemy ground fire forcing him to crash land in a paddy field. Having been forced to crawl away from his plane and carrying only his emergency equipment he managed to regain Allied lines after struggling through the Jungle for several days alluding the Japanese.
